St.Tropez Skin Illuminator in GOLD review n swatches

Posted by Unknown at 18:09 16 comments
Hello everyone,

I've been going crazy for blushes n highlighters lately.. I right now posses 4 awesome highlighters n this one is among one. This is a highlighter in golden shade from st.tropez brand . It comes in three shades that is Gold , Rose and Violet .. It's an international brand n not easily available in India. But u can always get this online. I bought mine from here.

So it's a lovely glowy highlighter. U always wondered the glow on Italian models ? It's never shimmery , infact it's always glowy. I always wished I had skin like them but then I gotta knew that it's not the skin it's the highlighter behind that awesome glow n this special highlighter is mostly used for Italian models..

So lets start the review:

Price: 1063/- for 50ml

Packaging:

The products come in a squeeze tube, and you can squeeze out a bit at a time, just enough for what you need, the tube is grey in color with a white screw cap. Packaging is normal in a decent tube with no speciality.. Looks very unattractive to me compared to other highlighter I have. Since this is a liquid highlighter it comes in a tube.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Cyclopentasiloxane, Phenyl trimethicone, Ethylhexyl palmitate, Glycerin, Cetyl PEG/PPG - 10/1 dimethicone, Mica, Cera alba (Beeswax), Benzimidazole diamond amidoethylcarbamoylpropyl polymethylsilsesquioxane, Cetyl dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-3 oleate, Sodium chloride, Hydrogenated castor oil, Benzyl alcohol, Silica, Parfum (Fragrance), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hexyl cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Alpha-isomethyl ionone, CI 77891 (Titanium dioxide).

Product claims:

St.Tropez Skin Illuminator Gold gives the skin a gorgeous finish by highlighting and defining facial contours.
Skin Illuminator Gold gives the illusion of effortlessly polished skin whilst giving a gently flushed appearance when applied to the cheekbones, bridge of the nose and the Cupid’s bow on the lips.

My take on the product:

This is my first liquid highlighter, this is very sheer n perfect for a day look n also for evening wear for the people who prefer subtle highlighting with just a hint of glow. When I first opened the seal of the tube I was flattered with the amazing fragrance it has.. It feels so refreshing invigorating smell. It can b compared to Mac's strobe cream or Nars illuminators, but more natural looking Illuminator I can say. It gives you a very natural glow which can make your skin look awesomely glowy n dewy ..
If you wear HD makeup for photo shooting, this one may not suit you because it's a little too natural. But for everyday makeup, it's wonderful.. They describe the gold one for medium to tan skin but m myself pale skin but this gives me perfect golden glow without making me look bronzed or dark so I say it can b used on both fair to medium skin tones. While Rose one is only for very pale skins like British whites.. As it may look drastically pink on fair Indian skin tone.
Very little is enough for the whole face.. Just 2drops can give a perfect highlighting all over my nose , forehead n cheekbones..
It contains light golden shimmer which is hardly visible to eyes on skin after blending, all it leaves on your skin is a dewy effect .. It can b used as a highlighter or can b mixed with your bob cream or foundation to add a radiance all over your face. I swear by this product as it really gives u a very subtle glow n dewy look.
It's an ideal piece for people with dry skin n combination too.. Oily skin people can use powder highlighter instead of liquids as this may give u oily effect.
But if you use any oil controlling serum under your foundation then even oily skin can also carry off these with an ease.
Being a liquid highlighter it's not even sticky or greesy. It just disappears in your skin n leave an instant glow.

Cons:

Availability in India
Bit expensive for an sheer highlighter
Sheer highlighter, not for bridal wear or evening look

Rating:4.25/5

Do I recommend :
Yes for daily wear I will highly recommend this.

Will I purchase again?
Yes definitely after my tube ends but that may take a very long time..
